For those looking to get their kids interested in science at a young age, finding interactive science experiments for kids is important. Kids have short attention spans and need plenty of stimulation to keep them interested for very long. Playing with chemicals in a chemistry set will only go so far with most kids but living and growing science experiments for kids have a better chance of holding up. Two such kits are Sea Monkeys and Triops, both of which use types of funny looking shrimp.
Sea Monkeys are a special type of brine shrimp, which comes in kits that include everything but the water. Pour in the formula, add, water, and watch for the Sea Monkeys to hatch. These tiny little beings look like small underwater monkeys, hence the name and can live for up to two years with proper care.
Triops are shrimp, which look similar to horseshow crabs but are known in the science experiments for kids as prehistoric dinosaurs. With this kit, a kid gets to grow and raise his or her own Triops. This kit requires added water and a light source to watch the egg hatch into a living breathing “dinosaur.”
