Author: If you are looking for free entertainment, the Denver Art
Museums are a great place to soak in some culture and visual
stimulation. The first weekend of every month is a free day and the
art inside can blow your mind.
Some people might look down on Denver because it isn’t on
the East Coast, or isn’t the center of culture like New York is, but
the art museums here have held Picasso paintings
before for a short time and many other huge names as well.
The Museum of Modern Art here in Denver offers new
exhibits almost every month and almost every time, the art is
spectacular. It doesn’t have the traditional art you might find at
the Louvre or the MET like Salvador Dali
paintings, but the new artists of this century have a great grasp
of the things that are important to us in this time. The scale has
gone up during these last fifty years and people are no longer looking
at just small pieces. Some artwork will take up entire walls to
display and they really do inspire awe.
The classics like Van Gogh
paintings are difficult to come by at the Denver Art Museum, but
you might just be lucky enough to catch them as they come through.
